SEMANTIC
Semantic studying of meaning. Words have more than one meaning. Sentences have more than one meaning. When I say 'dog' or 'pumpkin' I have my own meaning, while you have yours. To really understand the meanings of language, we study semantics. The language doesn't have to be spoken, it can be something written or gestured through body language or kinesthetic signs and codes.
One somewhat extreme example is "woman". Literally, based on dictionary, woman means a female human. But the way someone may say it might indicate that "woman" is something lovable or disliked. Society's opinion on the word can influence its meaning. Meaning can also be influenced by social class.
For Example :
1. Grammatical Meaning: "Smells" means "Has smell"
2. Contextual Meanings:
Sister fell off the motorbike
I fell in love
His pride fell

HapusWhat is grammatical meaning in semantic ?
BalasHapusHi anwar
HapusSemantics is the linguistic and philosophical study of meaning, in language, programming languages, formal logics, and semiotics. It is concerned with the relationship between signifiers—like words, phrases, signs, and symbols—and what they stand for, their denotation.
Does semantic give impact in our language in daily activity? Why ? And give the reason please .
BalasHapushi cendy
Hapusof course yes, For example, at home, a child asks his mother if he still has savings or not, then the mother still answers. The listening father will misunderstand their conversation. Studying semantics in the family is very important, so that someone who hears it does not misunderstand the intended meaning. In the conversation above, it could be that the child asked if there was still a deposit of snacks, a store of shopping, or a deposit of used clothes, etc. Not what the father thinks that his wife has another man's deposit.

Give me a reason why the semantic is important to entre my lesson?
BalasHapusHi Kristina
HapusBecause each language has very different meanings, and we must be able to distinguish each of these meanings, because each language will have different meanings, how better we can distinguish the meanings shown by each of these interpretations of meaning.
